The victimized man in this story has FASD, and is adopted.
It is easy to imagine any one of our children caught in this kind of situation. This mom could be any one of us. As the mom said, once they reach 24, you think they should be safe. But they are always vulnerable to mean-heartedness, close-mindedness, and just plain misunderstanding.
