But did DD select the math, English, social studies, or reading homework due tomorrow. No, she chose the art project which isn't due until next Thursday. Sigh. So we had a discussion about what makes more sense, and tomorrow she will start with math. Well, at least she did quality work on her art project (not necessarily a given), and we won't have to worry about it over the weekend.
Tomorrow there are no games or practices, so I am looking forward to having the whole evening at home with the kids. Tonight was a long evening. DD's volleyball game was at a school over an hour away, so I picked up DS at school after work and rushed out there. Or tried to. Traffic was horrid because of construction, and I arrived at the school just as kids started leaving the building at the end of the game. Oh well. Fortunately, Thursday's games are much closer to home.
DS told me that today they had to journal about how school is going so far. I asked him what he wrote, and he couldn't remember. (This is the kid who can remember that 5 years ago there was a car behind us playing it's music too loud, or that a month ago we mentioned ice cream, but can't remember what he wrote 3 hours previous. Go figure). I asked him what he said in general: good, bad, boring, fun, etc. Well, he said had added something that was the worst part of the week, which he remembered. Bracing myself, I dared to ask what it was...... The worst part of his week was that there wasn't enough homework. Apparently the teacher has promised more for the future, so he should be happy. Otherwise I'm sure his sister would be willing to share.
