This afternoon, DS had a soccer game scheduled at the same time as DD's volleyball game. Since the games were in two separate locations, several miles apart, I wasn't sure how I was going to be in two places at once. On Friday, DS has another soccer game.
This morning on the way to school, I was discussing this issue with the kids. DS volunteered, "Mom, you should go to DD's game." This was very thoughtful of him, since I know how much it means to him to have us see his games, but he knew we had just missed her first game two days earlier because of traffic. I thanked him for being so generous and understanding.
Not to be outdone, DD immediately piped up with, "And Mom, you should go to DS's game on Friday." I had to gently remind her that while it was a generous offer, it was a moot point because it was the only game on that day. She responded with a cheerful, "I know, Mom." Sigh... sometimes it seems like the neurons don't quite make it all the way down the path.
