A Little Distracted...

This morning, I thought I was being clever. I had tossed some work clothes in the dryer last night, so they would be ready to wear today. But this morning I didn't want take the time to run downstairs, grab the shirt I needed, and run back upstairs before getting dressed.

So, thinks I, I will don the rest of my ensemble, and wear my pajama T-shirt (the ratty-edged, tiny-holed, sloppy comfy one) downstairs to the dryer, where I will make the swap and leave my T-shirt to be hauled upstairs later. I've done this before. It works..... in theory.

So, I come downstairs, get the kids' snacks ready for school, feed the cats, pack my lunch, get kids out the door, revel in a light traffic day (unlike the rest of the snowy mornings recently), get the kids to morning care, which is 2/3 of the way to my work.

And on the way out the door, happen to look down and try to place the green shirt I'm wearing. And it hits me. Now, my office is business casual, but not that casual. So, I had to drive home, change, and head back to work in heavier traffic, adding an hour to my arrival time.

Sigh... guess I was a little distracted! But wouldn't I have gotten some funny looks showing up at work in my PJ's!!!

That is funny! I always dreamt of doing something like that....or showing up for work with one black shoe or one brown shoe! Hope you laughed about it and didn't take it too seriously! Merry Christmas to you and your family!

Reas - That is just fine - I'm flattered!

Marge - Yes, I laughed! My husband says he'd think I was blond if he didn't know better. It runs in my family, though.

LOL!

I was at the store today when I froze because I thought I might have put on two different tennis shoes.

I have sketchers that are similar. One is older and the other is new. They felt funny and I suddenly thought I might be wearing one of each.

I wasn't. Thankfully. lol

Your story reminded me of one day in grade school when I discovered that under my dress I still had on the panties part of my shortie pajamas. I was so embarrased, and just KNEW everyone would know just by looking at me. It must have been traumatic, since I remembered it today -- and it happened over 40years ago!
