Just a quickie today, as I know I am falling way behind again.
I just logged in to update my profile, because DS is 11 today. I can't believe how much that little 5-year-old who walked in my door 5 1/4 years ago how grown! He's doing so wonderfully lately, and has been a bright spot in our days (hope I haven't jinxed it!) He even took the news pretty well when we told him DH has to work tonight, so he will only open one gift tonight, and get the rest this weekend when my in-laws are here for a visit. (which will give me time to finish shopping, too) Previously, he would have pouted for a while about it.
The hiccup could be whether DD decides to be cooperative today. The stealing continues, and I will post the Saga of the Gym Shoes one of these days. That, combined with lying, failing to bring homework home, lying about homework, etc., has earned her several days worth of grounding (basically, no evening snack and straight to bed when homework is done). Sigh... she just has to push and push and push until we reach our breaking point. Every December. Grr.... I know, I know... seasonal issues, time of year issues, holiday issues.... Doesn't mean it isn't ANNOYING!!!
But hopefully this will be an angst-free day for our not-so-little boy, and we will be able to relax and celebrate.
